Noise limits come first

Venues and municipalities usually set a decibel limit at a boundary, not at the unit. Distance, barriers and enclosure type all move that number, so agree placement while you are still choosing equipment.

Ratings are quoted at a set load and distance. Ask for the figure at the load you will actually draw.

Clean power for audio, lighting and camera

Consoles, LED fixtures and camera gear are sensitive to waveform quality and voltage dips. Inverter or well-regulated units avoid the hum and flicker that show up on a recording.

Dimmer racks and LED walls have very different load profiles from catering — separate them across distribution rather than stacking everything on one leg.

Redundancy and load balance

For anything ticketed or broadcast, a second unit covering critical circuits is standard practice rather than a luxury. Decide in advance which circuits move over if the primary drops.

Balance loads across phases. An unbalanced three-phase supply causes voltage problems that look like an equipment fault.
